About the campingbox

Nestbox L is designed for large MPVs, vans, people carriers and cars where a higher bed position makes sense; the successor to the Roamer. Packed depth is 65 cm. The model's headline feature: room for the long game — a kitchen, up to 10 l of water, space for a 20 l fridge and four drawers.

New generation, successor to the Roamer. The kitchen set is made for trips where you sleep elsewhere but refuse to give up a proper coffee from the boot, clean hands and your own table at the forest edge. It pairs perfectly with a rooftop tent, picnics, sports outings and longer road stretches.

Your car stays a regular everyday car, and the whole setup comes back out when you return. The system is removable, modular and securely anchored — no drilling, no entry in the vehicle registration document and no irreversible modifications to your car. It anchors with the included certified straps to tie-down points; rail-based anchoring is in development and currently available on request.

Key benefits

The heart of the Nestbox stays right where it belongs — in your car: cooking, water, a worktop, and storage. Open the boot, slide out the module, and your parking spot becomes a kitchen in moments. The water system handles drinking, handwashing, dishes, and a quick rinse-down of your bike or dog; select configurations also support a shower.

The result is straightforward: less searching, less packing, more time outside. Here's what this specific model brings to the table:

**Cooking** — one stove for a standard 230 g propane-butane cartridge included, a second stove available as an optional accessory, plus a sink, tap, and pull-out worktop.

**Water** — a 10 l water bag as standard, with an optional extra 10 l, a tap with integrated pump, and the option of a gravity-fed shower by hanging the water bag and adding a dedicated shower valve — or upgrade with a pressure shower and separate water bag, see accessories.

**Storage** — four drawers, space for a fridge, and room for gear on longer trips.

**Cooling** — a 20 l compressor fridge available as an optional accessory.

A 30 l fridge option for extended adventures is also in the works. Behind the product is Egoé's own in-house development and manufacturing in the Czech Republic — from concept through design to production. Sustainability here means more than carefully chosen recycled and recyclable materials; above all, it means long service life, repairability, servicing, spare parts, and a product that ages gracefully rather than gathering dust after a single season.

What's included

The next-generation body is built on a lighter, simpler, and more modular construction with durable worktops. It uses HPL surfaces, Alucobond, and materials designed for easy maintenance, long service life, and graceful ageing. The idea isn't a one-season throwaway kit — it's a smart system you can use, service, expand, and move between trips and vehicles.

The kitchen set includes the body, kitchen module, water system, storage spaces, anchor straps, and mounting hardware for first-time setup. The bed, slatted base, base support, and mattress are not included in the kitchen set. First-time setup requires only an Allen key to dial in the correct heights; repeat installation typically needs no tools at all.

Full step-by-step instructions are in the installation manual. Model-specific highlights: new lighter construction with durable worktops and Alucobond. Cooking: one stove for a 230 g propane-butane cartridge as standard, a second stove as an optional accessory, sink, tap, and pull-out worktop.

Water: 10 l water bladder as standard, option to add another 10 l, tap with integrated pump, and gravity shower capability by hanging the water bladder and using a dedicated shower valve — or opt for a pressure shower with a separate bladder, see accessories. Storage: four drawers, space for a fridge, and room for gear on longer trips.

Cooling: 20 l compressor fridge as an optional accessory. A 30 l fridge option for longer trips is also in the works. Not included in the price: the fridge, sold separately, and any further optional accessories.

Installation and Usage

Installation is not complicated at all, you can handle most tasks yourself, but it's better to ask for help when loading the build into the car. It's easy with two people, and some can even manage it solo. The weight varies by type (40-100 kg), but the build consists of multiple parts, so even the largest version has a heaviest part of max. 55kg.

You can place the build in the car in 15-20 minutes (transport position), and easily remove it in 10 minutes upon your return. Our builds can be anchored in almost any vehicle. All you need are four anchor points in the trunk and certified straps. Some builds can be anchored directly into the rails if they are present in the vehicle. During travel, you only need about 5 minutes to set up the bed each time. The bed should be folded while driving.

For the first installation, you will need Allen keys #4 and #5 to adjust the appropriate leg height. No tools are needed during subsequent use.

Maintenance, Warranty, and Service

When folded, the camper module takes up approximately 66 × 95-120 × 40–90 cm, so it fits on a EUR pallet and takes up no more than 1 m³ of storage space. A protective cover for storage is also available.

Clean the camper module regularly with a sponge or cloth with soapy water. Clean the upholstery with a cloth and warm soapy water or a carpet cleaner. The upholstery can be separated from the mattress. The upholstery can be machine washed at 30° on a delicate cycle without spinning. The mattress cannot be machine washed.

The warranty period is 24 months. We provide warranty and post-warranty service and spare parts.

Transport

If the built-in unit is not in stock, we will produce it within 6 weeks. There is an option for free pick-up at the production site, or installation, both at the production site and in Prague. Delivery to your address is also possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the right Campingbox for my car?

Start by selecting based on your car. Each Campingbox includes an overview of compatible models. If you don't find your car in the database, it doesn't mean the Campingbox won't fit — we update the database regularly.

It helps to compare your boot dimensions with our diagram, or simply send us your car model, year of manufacture, and the width of your boot space. We'll verify compatibility and recommend a Campingbox that suits both your vehicle and your travel style.

Which cars are Egoé Nest Campingbox compatible with?

Campingbox is designed for a wide range of vehicles — from estate cars, SUVs and MPVs to larger passenger vans and off-roaders. The universal concept with several module sizes allows installation in small, medium and large vehicles alike.

The key factors are boot size, interior height, the ability to fold down the rear seats and anchor points. If you're not sure, just get in touch. We'd rather check the dimensions together upfront than have you hesitate unnecessarily.

Why choose a Campingbox by Egoé?

Because behind it stands not just a product, but an original idea, in-house development, and long-term experience. We have been designing and manufacturing our own concepts for over 30 years, and we have been developing the Egoé Nest Campingbox since 2014. From the very beginning, we have been looking for ways to bring travel comfort into an everyday car — without drilling and without complex modifications.

We pride ourselves on original design, quality manufacturing in the Czech Republic, modularity, and long product life. Sustainability for us is not just a question of materials, but also of shape, function, and use: a good product should serve for a long time, age well, be repairable, expandable, and adaptable to different journeys and vehicles. Nestbox is therefore not a one-season piece of equipment, but a well-thought-out system for years of travel.

Do I need to modify my car or register the Campingbox in the vehicle logbook?

No. The Campingbox is placed in the boot and secured without any drilling or modifications to the bodywork. All you need is four anchor points in the boot, or rails if your vehicle has them. We use certified straps, and once the Campingbox is removed, your car is back to being a regular car.

This means no changes to your vehicle registration documents are required. It is not a permanent vehicle conversion — it is a removable travel module.

Can I install the Campingbox myself and how long does it take?

Yes, you can handle most of the process yourself. That said, it's better to have someone help you when loading the Campingbox into the car. With two people it's easy, though some customers manage it solo. The Campingbox consists of several parts, so even with larger variants you're never dealing with one enormous piece.

The first installation takes around an hour, as you'll be setting the correct leg height, testing the anchoring, and getting familiar with the system. On subsequent trips, you'll be able to load the Campingbox into the car in roughly 15–20 minutes. After returning, removing it takes approximately 10–15 minutes.

Do I need tools to use it?

Only during the initial setup. To adjust the leg height, you will need a 4 mm and 5 mm hex key. No tools are needed during regular use.

When travelling, simply secure the Campingbox properly, pull out the modules you need, and unfold the bed once you have parked. The sleeping area is ready in about 5 minutes.

Can you install the Campingbox for me?

Yes. We can install the Campingbox for you at our production facility in Bílovice u Uherského Hradiště, or at one of our partner dealers — see the contact map. During installation, we will also show you how to anchor, fold, unfold, and safely use your Campingbox.

If you prefer to install it yourself at home, that is perfectly fine too. The Campingbox is shipped pre-assembled, so there is no complicated building involved.

Can I easily remove the Campingbox when I need the car for something else?

Yes. That is exactly the principle behind Egoé Nest: load it, live it, unload it. When you head out on a trip, you put the Campingbox in the boot. When you need a regular car, you simply take it out.

Removal takes approximately 10–15 minutes and no tools are required. Your car can function normally during the week and transform into a sleeping, cooking and travelling space at the weekend.

Can I still use the rear seats with the Campingbox installed?

In most cases, yes. When folded, the Campingbox mainly takes up boot space, so you can travel with four or five people depending on the vehicle type and the specific Campingbox. The Nestbox Campingbox occupies only around 66 cm of boot depth in its folded transport position.

For sleeping, the bed unfolds across the folded-down seats. While driving, the bed should be folded into the transport position and the Campingbox properly secured.

How much does the Campingbox weigh and how much storage space does it take?

Weight varies depending on the type and configuration. Individual variants range from approximately 40 to 100 kg. However, the Campingbox is divided into several parts, so even with the largest variants you never have to handle the full weight at once; the heaviest single piece weighs approximately 55 kg.

When packed down, it takes up roughly 66 × 95 × 40–90 cm depending on the type. It fits on a EUR pallet and takes up no more than 1 m³ of space. For storage, we recommend a dry location and a protective cover.

How comfortable is sleeping in the car?

Campingbox are designed so that sleeping isn't just a last resort. The multi-layer mattress, 4 or 6 cm thick, provides comfort for a weekend getaway or a longer trip. The underside is washable and non-slip.

The mattress cover is made from a pleasant Mystic fabric with Aquaclean technology — soft to the touch, abrasion-resistant, and easy to clean. Most everyday stains can be removed with just water and a cloth. The Safe Front® antimicrobial treatment also helps reduce microbial activity and odour build-up, so the mattress stays fresh longer — even with frequent travel.

Can I cook in the Campingbox and have water or a fridge with me?

Yes, it depends on the set you choose. The kitchen module can be pulled out so you can cook directly from the boot, or you can remove certain parts and use them outside the vehicle. With a more complete setup, expect a stove, sink, water supply, storage space, and room for a fridge.

If you want to travel as independently as possible, we recommend the Complete set — a fully equipped kitchen module plus a fold-out bed with a comfortable mattress. If you're mainly looking for sleeping space and storage, the simpler Sleep set may be all you need. And if you're mostly heading out for picnics in nature, or you sleep in a rooftop tent, the Kitchen set will do the job — that's the Nestbox on its own, without the bed.

Is the Campingbox suitable for longer trips, or more for weekends?

Both. Nestbox is designed for short overnight stays, weekend trips, and longer road trips alike. It mostly depends on your vehicle, the set you choose, and your travel style.

For longer journeys, we recommend thinking through your setup: a kitchen, water, a fridge, storage bags, and possibly combining it with a rooftop tent. That combination works especially well for families or groups — two people sleep in the car, the rest in the rooftop tent.

What are the ordering, delivery, and shipping options?

You can order your Campingbox directly through the Egoé Nest e-shop. If it's in stock, we ship it according to the availability shown on the product page. If it's not in stock, we'll manufacture it within 6 weeks.

Pick-up at our production facility in Bílovice u Uherského Hradiště is free of charge. We also offer installation at our production site, in Prague, or through our partner network, as well as delivery to your address. Within Europe, you can order via the e-shop; for shipments outside Europe, please contact us directly. Payment is available by online card or bank transfer.

How do I clean the Campingbox, what's the warranty, and what about service?

Clean the body with a sponge or cloth and soapy water. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive products. Clean the upholstery with a cloth and warm soapy water, or use an upholstery cleaner. The cover can be removed from the mattress and machine washed at 30 °C on a gentle cycle without spinning. Do not machine wash the mattress itself.

The standard warranty is 24 months. We also provide after-warranty service and spare parts. If any part gets damaged, get in touch — we'll suggest a repair, a part replacement, or the right service procedure.
