When people who share a genuine passion for skiing get together, what happens? They design and build their own skis. That's exactly what happened in Bílovice. A place where ideas become products. Egoé sends its first personal skis onto the slopes…

A purely personal decision

Finding solutions to our own needs. Through product. This is the principle Egoé has operated on for over thirty years. So when a group of people with a deep connection to skiing came together within the company, a new subject emerged…

We start by exchanging views on graphics and visuals — at the time, there was nothing on the market that came close to the icons of the 80s. Vojta Pršala, an active racer, then brings a technical dimension to the conversation — what the construction of an ideal ski should look like. And suddenly we are talking about making our own collection. Not because we felt the market was waiting for it. We simply want them. It is entirely our own personal decision…

The first contours of our skis

Kontura. That's where it all began. The brief: a versatile all-mountain ski. For the topsheet, David Zezula, art director at Egoé, designs a contour line motif — the same one we had been using for our camping Campingbox. The original ambition is modest: add a new product to our outdoor concept. Next in line is DIP. And here everything changes. Filip Streit steps into the design process and we push into demanding milling work. The goal is maximum visual simplicity — a path that runs through many debates. Done. But our run in the market hits a wall: the construction. The ski suits racers more than anyone else. And there aren't many of those.

We are looking for direction. Ours.

Beat. After downhill, we move into ski touring. With designer Alice Fialová. One ski carries the ascent profile, the other the corresponding heart rate. A deeply considered visual concept. We even drop the logo for it. It would interrupt the story. We live skiing more and more intensely. Each collection comes with more and more discussion. We experiment with complex external collaborations. But we find this is not something we can buy in. That we have to tell it and work it out ourselves. And bring sales and marketing into it. Time for real design within clearly defined boundaries. The time of the Parazits is coming…

From brands closer to people

Pa®azit. A collection into which we pour our inner emotions. We want to pay tribute to the legendary ski models we admired — those whose graphics defined the atmosphere of the mountains at the turn of the eighties and nineties. David Zezula ultimately resolves everything by applying several patterns to a single ski. A visual identity born from the confrontation of many opinions. A construction shaped by insights from the shop floor. Now it makes sense. From this point, only one step remains…

The first personal skis

The first personal skis

That's us. Star Collection

For all genres – from downhill to alpine skiing – we work with the same artistic concept. In addition, we approach skis as a spatial object. Information about what the ski is intended for is in the form of a texture on the base. The color scheme of the upper side smoothly transitions into the sidewalls. And then a small piece of information at the end of the ski, at the heel. The initial and last letter of the name of one of the legends of alpine skiing. Because the real emotion is not about the brand. But about specific people. Egoé Star is coming. The first personal ski…
